This service has been a major part of our activity since the founding of APT with employees who have travelled regularly offshore since the eighties. Well-site biostratigraphy is a highly valued aspect of our evaluation service, involving active participation in geosteering during landing and TD’ing of sections, and horizontal reservoir drilling in laterally and vertically complex reservoirs. If faults are prognosed or suspected in the well path, wellsite biostratigraphy is the tool that can save unplanned and expensive sidetracking of the well.
APT’s wellsite team also carries out EDXRF chemostratigraphy in combination with biostratigraphy, without any other expansion of the wellsite arrangement. This service can provide extremely useful information in fossil poor zones and in other zones with low biostratigraphic resolution. APT is unique in providing combined biostratigraphy and chemostratigraphy at the wellsite; the best stratigraphical solution our clients can take on board.
